The Primrose police recently arrested a 27-year-old Delport informal settlement man for allegedly raping his 11-year-old daughter.
The arrest was made when the child’s mother, the accused’s girlfriend, opened a case at the Primrose Police Station after she discovered the abuse that had allegedly been going on since January 2016.
“The mother explained that she had come home from work late and when she arrived home the accused demanded to know where she had been.
“He began assaulting her when she didn’t answer,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
The couple’s children witnessed the assault and the 11-year-old asked her father to stop.
“The daughter asked her father to stop beating her mother because he was hurting her, the same way he hurt her when he forced his private parts into hers,” said Maome.

At hearing this, the man left the shack immediately and the mother asked the child what had happened to her.
“The mother said that her daughter explained that her father had been forcing himself on her since January 2016.
“Horrified, the mother opened a case against him,” Maome said.
The man has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for a bail application.
