Germiston SAPS’ successes for the week

The Germiston SAPS arrested over 60 suspects in the last week.

The Germiston SAPS was hard at work in its plight to eliminate crime in the community this past week.

Looking at statistics by the station’s communication head, Capt George Raphulu, from January 8 to 14, the local police apprehended 65 suspects for various charges, including:

• Possession of dagga: 15

• Possession of drugs: 8

• Shoplifting: 7

• Drinking and driving: 6

• Theft: 6

• Assault with grievous bodily harm: 5

• Public violence: 3

• House break-in and theft: 3

• Possession of property: 3

• Fraud: 2

• Malicious damage to property: 2

• Interference with police: 1

• Possession of an unlicensed firearm: 1

• Pointing of a firearm: 1

• Rape: 1

• Possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle: 1
