While at home, last Saturday, a Marlands woman heard her 28-year-old son shouting at his younger sister.
She went to investigate and discovered that her daughter was locked in the bathroom with her son shouting at her through the door.

“The complainant claimed she asked her son to stop shouting, but instead he began shouting at her,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“He reportedly followed his mom away from the bathroom threatening her and calling her names, before punching her in the face.”
The woman called the police, who responded timeously and arrested the suspect.
“We are appealing to our community to seek help when they have challenges in their personal relationships and not to act out violently,” said Maome.

The man was taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was formally charged with domestic violence.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
