Seventy-two nabbed for various crimes in Ekurhuleni West Cluster

Ekurhuleni West Cluster police stations net 72 suspects for various crimes in recent crime prevention operations.

In an effort to rid the area of crime, Ekurhuleni West Cluster police stations embarked on crime prevention activities in various policing precincts over the weekend of September 28 to 30.

The stations, namely, Alberton, Bedfordview, Brackendowns, Eden Park, Elsburg, Germiston, Primrose, Katlehong North and South, Tokoza, Vosloorus and Zonkizizwe, managed to arrest 72 suspects during normal operations such as tracing of wanted suspects and stop-and-searches.

Suspects were arrested for crimes including common assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), rape, murder, possession of dagga, house break-in and theft, dealing in liquor without a licence, general theft, malicious damage to property, shoplifting and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All the arrested suspects are expected to appear in various courts in the cluster soon.
