A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen property after he was recently handed over to police by a local security company.
The man was apprehended in Bamboo Street, in Primrose, after patrolling security officers noticed him walking down the road pushing a tyre.
Police from the Primrose Police Station were called to the scene.

“When they arrived they asked him where the tyre had come from, but he was unable to give an explanation,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
He was arrested and taken to the station where he was formally charged.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
