Katlehong North police have confirmed they are investigating two cases of murder and one of attempted murder following a shooting outside Izibuko Primary School, in the Nhlapo Section of Katlehong on Wednesday.
It is reported that one of the victims was picking up his child, together with his wife, when he was shot multiple times. He died on the scene.

“A 12-year-old girl, who was walking in the area at the time of the shooting, was hit in the neck by a stray bullet,” said Capt Lesetja Mathobela, communications officer for the Katlehong North police.
“She was rushed to hospital, but died on route.”
It is alleged that the suspects were driving a white Toyota Quantum, with an unknown registration number.
“Twenty-nine cartridges and 15 projectiles were found on the scene,” said Mathobela.
“No arrests have been made.”

The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Gauteng Shadow MEC for Education Khume Ramulifho condemned the shooting and death of the young girl.
“The DA extends its sincere condolences to the family of the victim, learners and teachers at this school,” Ramulifho said.
“We call on the Gauteng Department of Education to engage with law enforcement agencies to ensure that our schools and surrounding areas are safe spaces.”
