Several crimes on the rise in Wychwood

Members of the Primrose police and Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk took to the streets of Wychwood to raise awareness about crime in the area.

According to reports from the Primrose police, theft of motor vehicles and burglaries in Wychwood are on the rise.

To address this worrying trend, officers from the Primrose Police Station and members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk, took to the streets recently to warn the community and create awareness of the increase in crime.

The team was joined by Matete Mmola, a representative from the metro’s Department of Community Safety.

“The community needs to stand up and help the police to fight crime,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

A number of safety tip flyers were distributed to the community through the awareness campaign.

The team also spoke to several residents.

“We hope that the safety tips will help the community in times of need,” said Maome.
