Katlehong police continue their crime prevention efforts.

Eleven suspects were arrested by the Katlehong police, last Thursday.

The suspects were arrested during a crime prevention operation carried out by members of the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit, assisted by detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

The suspects were charged for various offences.

Charges included sexual assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, theft, possession of suspected property, shoplifting, contravening a court order, child neglect, dealing in drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo assured the community that he will deploy as many police officers as he can to Katlehong’s known crime hot spots, as this approach has yielded results.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
