A police intelligence-driven operation by members of the Germiston Flying Squad led to the arrest of a 25-year-old male for suspicious movement of vehicles believed to be stolen and hidden in a house in Lithembe Street, Phumula Gardens.
According to communications officer for the Germiston Flying Squad Ntombikayise Ngcobo, police staked out the house and observed vehicles parked inside the yard. And upon further investigations, it was conclusively proved the two vehicles were indeed stolen in Alberton and Elsburg in February 2020.

One suspect already arrested for being in possession of two stolen vehicles and detained in Alberton SAPS appeared in the Magistrate’s court. The two vehicles were towed to the Benoni SAPS vehicle storage compound.
The Germiston Flying Squad unit commander, Lt Col Madimetja Kgole, commended members of the unit for the arrest. He also gave a stern warning to criminals that police will have a zero-tolerance approach in the fight against crime.
