Officers from Katlehong SAPS’s Crime Prevention Unit took to the streets of Katlehong on Thursday in a lockdown patrol, arresting seven suspects.

The suspects were charged with various offences, including:
• Contravening the Disaster Management Act (Covid-19 Act): 5
• Shoplifting: 1
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 1

All of the arrested suspects were held at the Katlehong Police Station pending their appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Phakama Gcaza thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
She urged the community to adhere to the lockdown regulations and to wear masks when they are out.
