“Prior to lockdown I spent six months in Thailand volunteering at Soi Dog and also for the government helping to rescue animals from the dog meat trade. It was valuable experience and I now want to contribute at JSPCA.

“I used to work in the IT field but I’m now studying animal behaviour. I am also busy with an animal training course.

“I want to work with animals as a career to create a sense of happiness and I’m really excited to be able to volunteer at JSPCA.

“On Saturday I adopted my first puppy from SPCA Johannesburg, and I named her Sadie,” Darren said with a smile.
