Two suspects found with narcotics nabbed by EMPD in Katlehong

A man and woman were arrested in Katlehong for the possession of narcotics on September 11.

A man and woman were arrested in Katlehong for the possession of narcotics on September 11.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, they were found in possession of 25 ziplock bags of khat and one ziplock bag of dagga, valued at R5 500. Officers also found R300 cash.

“They were arrested after officers acted on a tip-off from concerned members of the public in Katlehong.

“The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the pair, aged 22 and 31 in Mavimbela section, Katlehong,” said the spokesperson.

Mokheseng added the pair was taken to Katlehong Police Station.

“They face charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances. They are expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon.”
