Polo driver nabbed for speeding and suspect arrested with unregistered bullets

Mokheseng said the suspects were expected to appear in the Germiston and Palm Ridge magistrate's courts soon.

The EMPD Anti-High Speed and Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two men in Roodekop and Katlehong during a crime prevention operation.

“On February 6, a suspicious pedestrian was stopped and searched by the EMPD officers in Siluma View. They uncovered two R50 and one R200 fake notes, 45 ziplocks of khat, seven live rounds of a 9mm and the 38 special firearms valued at R9 000,” said EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.

“The handcuffed lawbreaker faces charges of the possession of counterfeit bank notes, possession and possible dealing in illicit substance with possession of unlicensed ammunition.

“He was marched to Katlehong Police Station.” On Thursday in Roodekop area, officers arrested a speedster driving a white VW Polo hatchback at 172km/h.

The officers were on the N3 freeway direction southbound, which is zoned 120km/h. “The driver and a male passenger said they were rushing to a funeral. The offender faces charges of reckless and negligent driving.”
Mokheseng said the suspects were expected to appear in the Germiston and Palm Ridge magistrate’s courts soon.
