Fallen heroes remembered

Hospital manager remembered and thanked those who lost their lives in the line of duty

Life Roseacres Hospital hosted a ceremony on February 16 to remember fallen colleagues, doctors and those who have lost their lives due to the Covid-19.

The event was part of a global initiative by the Life Healthcare Group. The ceremony was held at 11am across hospitals in South Africa and across Life Healthcare’s businesses in the UK and Western Europe.

“Covid-19 has taken many lives. Among the lives lost have been those of health workers, who have had crucial roles throughout the pandemic response and served at the front lines,” said Henriette Pretorius, hospital manager.

“These lives are also a reminder of the ongoing dedication and service of those who continue to care for our patients and society at large. Thank you to all the fallen heroes and health workers who selflessly rendered their care to others.”

Staff members had a moment of silence followed by applause to acknowledge colleagues.
