Community take action to close potholes

Divan Olivier from AfriForum said due to the number of motorists' tyres being damaged by potholes, the group decided to fix the potholes.

AfriForum Germiston branch took the streets of Elspark and surrounding areas on May 22 to repair potholes.

The group kicked off the project at 7am and worked throughout the day to fill 60 potholes.

“Maybe we can help to save a lot of motorists’ money and maybe even prevent collisions,” said Olivier.

The group plans to host pothole repair days once a month until all the potholes in the area are repaired.

“If people spot a pothole in the area we ask them to share the information,” said Oliver.
