Last week it was announced that Covid-19 vaccines are open to all adults.
As part of increasing the vaccination roll-out programme, the cabinet approved the vaccination of persons aged between 18 years and 35 years from August 20.
One of Ekurhuleni’s youngest councillors, DA PR Clr Kade Guerreiro, was vaccinated last Wednesday at Ackermans Pharmacy in Primrose.

“I’m so happy the younger generation can now get vaccinated. As a councillor, I interact with a lot of people daily and protecting myself against the virus is important,” said Kade.
He said he aims to set an example for residents.
“There are so many stories going around on social media platforms about the vaccine that is creating unnecessary panic in people. We want life to get back to normal as much as possible, but we must take the steps of getting vaccinated,” said Kade.
He said the effects of the pandemic have been dire in the disadvantaged communities.
“The pandemic has taken away so much from everyone. People have lost love ones, jobs and their businesses.
“I would like to encourage the community to get vaccinated,” he said.
