Hoërskool Elsburg’s principal retires
Denise van der Merwe was appointed as acting principal.
Hoërskool Elsburg principal Hannes Nieuwoudt retired at the age of 65.
Nieuwoudt had been in education for more than 40 years.
He spent his final six years serving as Hoërskool Elsburg’s principal.
He started his career as a geography teacher and later progressed to serve at Hoërskool John Voster as HOD for six years.

He was later appointed as deputy principal in which he served for 20 years before moving to Hoërskool Elsburg.
During his time at Elsburg, he succeeded in building a strong management team and improved the overall academic results.
He intends to continue his quest to invest in people.
The school thanked him for his service and wished him well with his retirement plans.
