Athlete Jonathan de Klerk looks forward to train at a proper racing field.

Athlete Jonathan de Klerk is hoping for the Germiston Stadium’s reopening to allow athletes to return to the training fields ahead of meets.

He hopes to compete at the Olympic Games and that he will bring home a gold in the 100m sprint.

De Klerk said he continues to train at different venues every day since the stadium was closed for renovations.

He will be looking at competing in March at the SA Championship while he continues his training four times a week.

“I carefully select what I eat. I normally eat vegetables and fruits, that is where I get all the nutrients I need to keep going.”

He thanked his coach, Stephanè Kotzè, for supporting and motivating him as an athlete.
