Khomanani to host Ekasi gala dinner to raise funds

According to KKHBC, on the last fund-raiser event, they were able to raise R3 000 cash, 160 food hampers and recurring monthly vegetable hampers.

Khomanani Katlehong Home-Based Care (KKHBC) NPO will host an Ekasi gala dinner event to celebrate community heroes and to raise funds to support its beneficiaries who are mainly senior citizens.

The event will be held at Hurricanes, Katlehong, on November 26, from 17:00 to 22:00.

KKHBC provides service to elderly citizens in wards 50 and 55 in Katlehong with free based home care services that include daily bathing, cleaning and daily vitals for those with blood pressure, diabetic and bedridden patients.

Bheki Maseko, KKHBC coordinator and programs manager, said they are focused on two wards in Katlehong but they also go out to help in nearby sections like Mokwena, Mofokeng and Moseliki.

With support from the community, the NPO wishes to provide 160 of its beneficiaries aged 60 plus year’s food hampers for Christmas.

According to KKHBC, on the last fund-raiser event, they were able to raise R3 000 cash, 160 food hampers and recurring monthly vegetable hampers.

Maseko said they might have to use an indoor venue due to the unpredictable weather as a result they have to limit the number of guests.

Dress code: starkly formal, any colour.

Entrance: the general ticket cost R200, then R4 000 for a VIP table of nine people that includes beverages.
