Local family losses home in a fire

When a child returned from school, the house was on fire.

The Community Development Foundation International (CDF) urges the Germiston community to help a family who lost their home in a fire.

The organisation serves 5 000 poor people with various needs in portions of Germiston, Kempton Park and Brakpan under the direction of Pastor Barlin Govender, founder of CDF.

A Malvern family lost their house in a fire on May 24.

Three children are homeless when a fire destroyed their Malvern house on May 24.

Govender said they provided the family with food and clothing.

“To assist them with rebuilding their home, we are gathering construction supplies,” he said.

Govender said they will add a blanket drive this June in addition to their weekly feeding schemes in Makause and Ramaphosa informal settlements.
