MMA fighters bring home medals

Athletes from Thunder MMA delivered impressive performances at the MMA SA National Championship 2026, bringing home a number of medals across various divisions.

Vaughn Pretorius produced one of the standout performances of the tournament, defeating Xavier Cornelius from Legion Fitness Academy by technical knockout (TKO) just 24 seconds into the first round in the Featherweight 65.8 kg (145 lbs) division.

Triton Michelle took gold in his section.

Waldo Fourie competed in the Youth D U38kg division and secured a silver medal after a strong showing throughout the competition.

Jordin Coxen also earned a silver medal after competing in the Youth C under-57kg category.

Fifteen-year-old Johandre Fourie, from Elspark and a learner at Oosterlig High School, claimed a bronze medal in the Youth B under-57kg division.

Tyral Louw from Elsburg competed in the EFC fighter – 57kg section.

Triton Michelle added to the club’s success by winning gold in the Youth D under-34kg event.
