The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested two male suspects for possession of and possible dealing in multiple illicit substances in Palm Ridge, Katlehong, on June 7.

The DEU received a tip-off from concerned residents about individuals selling drugs in the community.

According to EMPD media liaison officer Kelebigile Thape, the officers went to a residence on Phumelelo Street in Ext 3, where a 32-year-old male suspect was found with 108 ziplock bags of crystal meth, with an estimated value of R 10 000.

She said the suspect co-operated with the officers and agreed to show them who he worked with.

“Officers swiftly proceeded to a residence on Ysterhout Street, where a 32-year-old male suspect was found in possession of 37 zip lock bags of CAT and 13 ziplock bags of crystal meth, valued at about R4 800,” said Thape.

She said they were arrested and taken to Eden Park SAPS and faced charges of possession of and possible dealing in illicit substances.
