Four arrested and dozens fined in Malvern East EMPD traffic operation

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Germiston North Precinct arrested four men and issued 57 written notices to motorists during a targeted law enforcement operation in Malvern East.

Four men were arrested and dozens of motorists fined during a traffic enforcement operation conducted by the EMPD in Malvern East.

The suspects, aged between 30 and 59, were arrested for offences including driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless and negligent driving, and failure to provide identification documents.

In addition, 57 written notices were issued to motorists for operating vehicles with defects on public roads.

All arrested individuals were detained at the Primrose Police Station and are expected to appear before the magistrate’s court in the coming weeks.

The EMPD confirmed that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and enforce traffic laws across the City of Ekurhuleni.

“These targeted operations are essential in reducing road incidents and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations,” an EMPD spokesperson said.
