Germiston residents without power – again

Most parts of Germiston are without power.

Update at 15:40: City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson advised that the power outage in Germiston on August 16 is an Eskom fault.

“I have spoken to the energy team and they have clarified that  the issue is on Eskom side, we don’t know what the issue is, and no estimated restoration time was provided,” said Dlaimini.

Ward Clr Wendy Morgan advised that diesel is being transported to the Windsor Street generator to ensure water supply.

Water tankers will be located in the Dawnview and Solheim areas after 17:00.

The City of Ekurhuleni stated that the power failure is affecting Tedstonville, Germiston South industries, Dukathole, Germiston Ext 9, Johnson and Mathey, Primrose, Marlands, Wychwood, Malvern East, Dawnview, Sunnyridge, Sunnyrock, Meadowdale and Wilbart and surrounding areas.

Ward 36 Clr Wendy Morgan said investigations are underway and that a turnaround time will be communicated.
