Locals urged to join hands with Marlands market for a fundraiser
Community organisations discuss how to benefit from fundraising events.
To support local charities and volunteer law enforcement groups, charity organisations gathered at a networking breakfast hosted by Deon Mugal at the Marlands Dog Park and Flea Market.
The gathering focused on discussing strategies to raise funds for various charitable causes and community policing initiatives.
Mugal emphasised the importance of community involvement in raising awareness and funds for NPOs and ongoing community projects.

Discussions centred on fundraising initiatives, such as the booming-off of areas within Primrose, including Marlands, to support projects like License Plate Recognition (LPR) camera installations aimed at enhancing community safety and fostering family-oriented environments.
Representatives from various organisations attended the event, including Better Primrose, Primrose CPF sector representatives, ward councillors, and local initiatives like the Itemba Feeding Scheme and Marlands Dog Park and Flea Market.
A notable addition to the Marlands Dog Park is the opening of Miss Madison’s Thrift, adding to the community’s support network.
Upcoming fundraisers scheduled at the dog park include a boerewors, soup, and omelette fundraiser for the Marlands boom-off project on May 4, a potjiekos competition benefiting the CPF and Itemba Feeding Scheme on June 1, and the M.A.D Winter Market at Marlands on June 29, supporting the Primrose Ratepayers’ Association and blanket drive.
