Model seeks sponsorship to pursue dream

Selected as one of the top 20 models for major fashion showcases abroad, this young talent needs the community’s help to get there.

In a story of ambition and determination, Brackenhurst’s Madison Waldeck is hoping to turn her dreams into reality by competing in an international modelling showcase.

At just 16, Madison has already achieved many accolades in the modelling industry by simply being a natural on the runway and in front of the camera. Her love for fashion and modelling began way before she stepped onto a runway.

“I’ve dreamt of being a model from the moment I can remember. I remember making my grandparents sit on the couch while I put on my little fashion shows in our living room,” highlighted the teen.

A learner at Hoërskool Dinamika, the teen began her modelling journey four years ago at Figures Models SA in Alberton. Her passion and determination paid off when she began entering competitions, quickly establishing herself in the local modelling scene.

Madison’s recent accolades include being named the face of the year 2023 and second place in the Model of the Year competition. She also competed in Miss Alberton, making the finals.

“In 2023, I won my place to participate in Project AIM (Aspiring International Models) onboard the prestigious Orchestra MSC cruise ship. I received eight callbacks from the 14 international scouts who attended from various agencies.”

But Madison’s big breakthrough came last year at the International Arts and Talent Showcase, hosted at The Venue in Melrose Arch. She was in the top 20 and invited to attend the Model Source London and Paris European Model Showcase later this year.

With the potential to thrust her onto the global stage, Madison needs funding to help cover the travel costs to London and Paris.

As a rising star, she believes this opportunity could be the breakthrough to establish herself internationally and make her mark in the industry. With a passion for fashion, she is asking the community to help her take this next step towards her dream.

“I’ve always dreamt of walking the runways of Paris and London; now it’s within reach. These conventions could open many doors for me in the industry,” said Madison.

To attend the European conventions, Madison needs to raise about R104 580.

“This trip means everything to me. It’s not just about the money; it’s about having the chance to prove myself on the international stage and making my dream of becoming an international model a reality. Your support would mean the world to me,” said Madison.

As she sets her eyes on the next step of her journey, she calls on friends, family and the community to help her get there. With the correct backing, Madison can take her career to new heights and make her dream of walking the runways of Paris and London come true.
