Avbob Germiston honours survivors and commemorates lives lost at Die Anker Tehuis

The event, held in line with the International Day of Older Persons, celebrated the strength and contributions of the elderly to families and communities.

In a moving ceremony, Avbob Germiston paid tribute to the resilience of the survivors of Die Anker Tehuis while commemorating the lives of those who have passed on.

The event was held at the Rosewood restaurant in Lambton. The day carried a dual meaning: remembrance for those no longer with us and appreciation for the elderly whose wisdom and perseverance continue to shape families and communities.

Staff and residents gathered for a heartfelt programme that included counselling, candle lighting and messages of encouragement, reminding attendees of the importance of honouring our elders while they are still with us.
