City of Ekurhuleni and tourism department host resilience workshop

The workshop highlighted compliance and regulatory processes in the tourism industry.

The CoE and the National Department of Tourism hosted a Compliance and Resilience Programme Workshop at the Edenvale Community Centre on Wednesday.

Industry leaders discussed the appropriate use of technology in shaping tourism of the future. Technology was highlighted as an important tool to help small, medium, and micro Enterprises thrive.

Acting divisional head for Tourism in the city, Caiphus Netshishivhe, addresses the audience.

The workshop assisted the tourism industry with the applicable compliance and regulatory processes.

Caiphus Netshishivhe, the acting divisional head for tourism in the city, said that for general tourism-related queries or to register on the tourism database, people can email tourism@ekurhuleni.gov.za

“The workshop also offered interactive mentorship and coaching with subject-matter experts in tax compliance, requirements for financial assistance and engagements with the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa,” said Netshishivhe.
