Ekurhuleni hosts pregnancy awareness campaign to support expectant mothers

The City of Ekurhuleni held a Pregnancy Awareness Campaign at the Civic Centre Clinic in Germiston, promoting maternal health, safe exercise and community support.

The City hosted the campaign to support expectant mothers through education, wellness guidance and community engagement.

The initiative underscored the importance of safe, regular physical activity during pregnancy, noting that it can improve overall health, lower the risk of complications and enhance emotional well-being.

Health professionals provided practical advice, demonstrated suitable exercises and shared resources to help mothers-to-be manage their pregnancies safely.

“Through programmes like this, we equip expectant mothers with the knowledge and tools they need for a healthy pregnancy journey,” a City spokesperson said.

“By caring for mothers today, we are nurturing the leaders of tomorrow and strengthening families across Ekurhuleni.”

The campaign also highlighted the role of community support and peer networks in helping expectant mothers feel informed, connected and empowered throughout their pregnancies.
