Two stolen cars recovered in Ekurhuleni, one suspect arrested
Two stolen vehicles recovered, undocumented suspect arrested in Ekurhuleni operations.
Between March 23 and 24, the EMPD Eastern Region Task Team recovered two reported stolen motor vehicles in Germiston and Boksburg.
They also arrested one undocumented male suspect in the Springs area.
In Germiston, officers recovered an abandoned blue VW Polo on Selkirk Street.
“The vehicle was verified and confirmed to have been stolen in Germiston. Fingerprint experts were called to the scene, and the vehicle was later taken to the Aeroton impound for safekeeping.”

“In a separate incident in Boksburg, a white Hyundai sedan, also reported stolen in Germiston, was found abandoned on Apex Street in Windmill Park. No suspects were found at the scene.
“Relevant stakeholders were notified, and the vehicle was taken to the Aeroton impound for safekeeping,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent, Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa.
Meanwhile, in Springs, officers arrested an 18-year-old male for failing to produce any form of identification.
The suspect claimed that his documents were lost and that he was in the process of applying for a new passport. He was detained and charged with contravening the Immigration Act.
