Germiston’s Etex South Africa inspires next generation of female leaders
During their visit, the learners engaged with professionals from various departments, including Personal Assistance, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, Engineering, Production and Human Resources.
Etex South Africa in Germiston marked Women’s Month with a celebration focused on empowerment, leadership and creating opportunities for the next generation of female leaders.
As part of its Women’s Month programme, the company hosted a special high tea for its female employees while also welcoming five high school learners through the Take a Girl Child to Work Day initiative.
The programme allowed the learners to experience the workplace first-hand and explore the wide range of career opportunities available within a global manufacturing organisation.

During their visit, the learners engaged with professionals from various departments, including personal assistance, marketing, finance, purchasing, engineering, production and human resources.
“Through these interactions, they gained insight into different career paths, workplace expectations and the skills needed to build successful careers,” said Lindiwe Khoza, brand and communications manager
The day began with refreshments and Siniat goodie bags, followed by a comprehensive safety briefing led by Rumbi Muzondo, EHS manager.
The learners were then introduced to Etex South Africa’s operations, values and opportunities through a company presentation delivered by Heidi Olivier, head of marketing.
The visit was further strengthened by the involvement of Ruben Roach, country manager of Etex South Africa, and members of the executive committee, who personally welcomed the learners and encouraged them to remain focused on their education and career ambitions.

The leaders emphasised the importance of perseverance, hard work and making the most of opportunities when building a career.
The afternoon brought the learners together with the women of Etex South Africa for a celebratory high tea.
The event provided an opportunity for networking, mentorship and meaningful conversations around leadership, personal development and the contribution women make to businesses and communities.
“The initiative was about more than celebrating Women’s Month. It was also an opportunity to expose young women to possibilities beyond the classroom and allow them to see themselves represented in different professional and leadership roles. By investing in young women today, we are helping to build the leaders, innovators, and changemakers of tomorrow,” said Khoza.

The celebration highlighted Etex South Africa’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace while creating opportunities for women and young people to develop, learn and prepare for the future.
