Emperors Palace opens new library at Rondebult daycare centre

Emperors Palace has extended the spirit of giving beyond Mandela Month by supporting Cute Kiddies Day Care Centre in Rondebult with a new library, educational resources and several improvements to the facility.

Emperors Palace recognised the spirit of giving beyond Mandela Day by giving back to the community of Rondebult.

The organisation created brighter futures for young children at the Cute Kiddies Day Care Centre.

The Palace of Dreams’ CSI team, staff members and Peermont executives recently visited the centre, under the project theme ‘Nurturing little minds and building brighter futures’.

Cute Kiddies Day Care Centre in Rondebult received much necessary upgrades from Emperors Palace.

As part of the initiative, the team established and officially opened a library at the day care centre, providing the young learners with access to books and learning materials.

The team also donated toys, children’s tables and chairs, mattresses, kitchen equipment and cleaning supplies.

Other improvements included installing awnings at outside doors and blinds, putting up new signage, replacing doors, repairing the children’s bathrooms and repainting the paving.

The initiative also allowed Emperors Palace staff to spend time with the children. Cute Kiddies principal Yiselwa Sidzatane, group chief human resources executive Fihliwe Molefi, Peermont community benefit trust chairperson Tshidi Mdima, group chief financial officer Charl Fouché and the Palace of Dreams’ acting complex executive and CFO Thembekile Makhoba joined some of the young learners for a reading session in the newly established library.

Emperors Palace staff members also rolled up their sleeves to help with the improvements at the centre, including repainting the paving and setting up the new library.

The initiative formed part of the resort and casino’s ongoing efforts to make a positive difference in communities within its catchment area, while honouring former president Nelson Mandela’s legacy of service and giving back.

The activities continued the following day, with people around the world marking the day by dedicating time to community service and positive change.
