EHS matric learner makes it to the finals of NWU’s Modiragatsi
The purpose of the competition is to inspire the youth of South Africa to identify a problem that they care about and develop a conceptual solution.
Matric learner of Edenvale High School Caleigh Avery made it to the finals of the 2021 Modiragatisi competition held by the North-West University.
Modiragatsi is an innovation competition for scholars between the ages of 15 and 18 years old, hosted by the NWU Faculty of Engineering and sponsored by the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA).

The purpose of the competition is to inspire the youth of South Africa to identify a problem that they care about and develop a conceptual solution.
This is an opportunity not only to gain new skills in design thinking, problem-solving, mobile app development, robotics and advanced manufacturing but also the opportunity to win the grand prize, an all-expenses-paid technology trip for the winning team and their teacher to the USA in 2022.
