A trio of reads for the holidays

Three new titles in time for your holiday reading.

The jury’s still a little out about whether we fancy Jack Reacher as much now Lee Child’s joined up with his brother Andrew. Either way, No Plan B’s still a cracker of a read. Reacher’s on the move – as always – currently in Colorado, where there are two witnesses when a woman throws herself in front of a bus. Clearly suicide, claims the first witness. The other is Reacher, who saw what really happened … a man pushed the woman to her death, before grabbing her bag and walking away. Obviously, Reacher follows him. Obviously it’s not just a random act of violence … rather a sinister, secret conspiracy. And, no real spoiler here, Reacher wins. Penguin

Inspired by a true story of forbidden love, Melanie Levensohn’s A Jewish Girl in Paris is set over two decades, kicking off in 1940 with a love affair between a young Jewish girl and the son of Nazi sympathizer. Inspired by true events and set against the background of World War II, it’s the story of forbidden love and dark secrets. Macmillan

Readers who’ve been loving Nora Robert’s Dragon Heart trilogy will be delighted book three is out, just in time for holiday reading. The Choice is all black magick, brutal destruction, epic battles. You do need to read the first two books, The Awakening and The Becoming, to really enjoy this one.  Piatkus
