Members in uniform celebrate Police Day

National Police Day is celebrated each year on January 27.

National Police Day was celebrated today in Heidelberg and it marks the 21st anniversary of the promulgation of the SAPS Act of 1995.
The day was celebrated at the Cornerstone Christian Family Church in Rensburg and the guests of honour included Me Dikeledi Tsotetsi (Member of Parliament), Brigadier PP Mokoena (Vereeniging Cluster Commander), Flip Minnaar (CPF Chairperson: Vereening Cluster Board) and Col Hennie Maass (Station Commander: Heidelberg Police Station).
Members were commemorated for their bravery and doing a difficult job in difficult circumstances.

Attendees also had the chance to do HIV/AIDS screening tests and Me Annah Malape (member of the Vereeniging Flying Squad) gave her testimony on living life to the fullest although she was tested positive for AIDS 11 years ago.
The day ended with a candle lighting ceremony.
