Millions spent on road reparation

Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) says it has in the 2013/2014 financial year spent over R4,5 million on the resealing of roads, creating 20 employment opportunities in the process.

According to LLM spokesman Arthur Thokoane, the project was completed in June 2014 and the funds were mostly spent on repairing roads and providing a seal.
Streets that were resealed include Bailey Avenue in Jameson Park, the area near Shalimar RidgeTaxi Rank, Vaal Street, Gabriel Street, Loveday Street, Vos Street, Roets Street, Zuid Street, Begeman Street, Chris Street, Louw Street and others.
Thokoane says: “The benefits of this project are numerous; potholes are eliminated, motorists are no longer frustrated, maintenance is kept to a minimum, transport is quicker and access to properties are enhanced.”
