Phoenix Paranormal South Africa visited the Old Jail on Saturday to rub shoulders with a couple of very old “friends” who seem to reside here. The film crew of DSTV’s Stranger SA was there to capture the action.
Arno du Toit, Charmaine Roos and Jannie van Rooyen from Phoenix Paranormal SA visited the Old Jail two months ago and discovered that it is occupied by a couple of souls that not everyone can see…
On Saturday a figure appeared on the monitor that detects movement or objects on the image from the infrared cameras. The figure (it looks like a stick figure) stood in the hall close to the front door for a couple of minutes (see the image on the right of the photo). On the left hand, the image of the infrared camera can be seen. There is no one in the hall! When Arno went to investigate the hall, the figure suddenly disappeared from the monitor.
They use specialised equipment such as infrared cameras and sound detectors and everything that they experience is recorded. If you want to see what they found two months ago, go to their website at www.phoenixpsa.co and go to the video section where you can watch a hair-raising clip of what happened at the Old Jail! Arno says they do not use mediums nor do they call up or consult the dead. “We go into a location on the request of a client who is experiencing something paranormal and something that they can not explain. We try and find proof of those claims by eliminating all logical reasoning first. What is left can be perhaps a class A EVP or undeniable proof that a spirit resides in that location.”
The new series by Urban Brew Studios will air on DSTV Channel ED (190) in September. The series “Stranger SA” will look into strange phenomena such as aliens and ghosts, but will also look into the world of sangomas and more. Frankie Opperman (son of well-known actor Frank Opperman) is the director.
