Driver nearly ploughs through fast food outlet

NIGEL - A driver allegedly speeding down Springs Road, nearly ploughed through the window of a busy fast food outlet when he lost control of the car.

The accident occurred around 19:40 on October 1 and left two people seriously injured and considerable damage to a stationed vehicle with two passengers in front of the shop.

Several people witnessed the accident, including a man and his grandchild who were nearly struck by the speeding car, seconds before it crashed.

He told HERAUT he was crossing the road on foot with his grandchild, when the speeding car missed them by a fracture. The driver allegedly lost control and crashed into a stationed vehicle.

The impact caused the car to capsise, nearly sending it through the window of the fast food outlet.
