Whirlwind destroys Ratanda church

No injuries reported as wind wrecks havoc.

The Universal Church on the corner of Ramothibe and Heidelberg Road in Ratanda was badly damaged by strong winds today.

Local resident Rebeca Hadebe, daughter of the landlord of the property, witnessed the event which took place at 13:50 and she confirmed that no persons were injured.

“The wind was almost like a tornado,” she told HERAUT.

According to the resident Pastor, who asked to remain anonymous, the community would start repairing the structure as soon as possible – adding that services planned for the week would go ahead as scheduled.
