Gruesome death: Man knocked over by taxi
Heidelberg man killed while walking next to his wife.
Family members of a 27-year old man from Ratanda cried hysterically on the scene where their brother was knocked over and killed by a taxi on the R23 (Balfour Road).
The family was walking near the Heidelberg Correctional Services around 07:30 this morning when a taxi overtook a Ford Bantam and smashed into the pedestrians.
According to Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate the taxi also hit the bakkie before coming to a standstill. The man’s wife was not seriously injured, but the man was certified dead on the scene.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
