Road between Heidelberg and Nigel open after severe storm
Heidelberg Mall subway will remain closed for now.
Structural engineers on site evaluated the infrastructural damage to the bridge wall, caused by the severe downpour that hit Heidelberg yesterday afternoon. They assured motorists that the R42 (Jacobs Street) is safe to use. The road between Heidelberg and Nigel is not affected by the assessment.
“Heidelberg Mall Centre Management is assessing the situation and currently have structural engineers’ on site. The subway will remain closed until all investigations have been concluded and it has been deemed safe for our shoppers”, said Clinton Janse van Rensburg (general manager: Heidelberg Mall).
