Heidelberg Mall subway to remain closed for safety purposes
The subway entrance to Heidelberg Mall on the Nigel-Heidelberg Road will remain closed.

Lebogang Legwale (spokesperson at Heidelberg Mall) issued a statement on April 20 regarding the Heidelberg Mall subway (bridge) that was closed for public use on February 4, due to structural damages caused by a heavy downpour of rain.
In the statement, Capital Land Property Asset Management confirmed that they are fully aware of the adverse effects of the subway closure, but added that since Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) is the owner of the road, any attempts to have the subway repaired must be coordinated by them.
“We have convened an urgent meeting with LLM and they have undertaken to treat the issue as a matter of urgency. The municipality remains committed to the well-being of all stakeholders, including the landlords and tenants, as well as the safety of the public,” legal advisor of Capital Land, Sipho Evans said.
