Staff escape injury when car drives through shop

Staff at Baker’s Centre Heidelberg in Jacob Street got the fright of their lives when a female driver ploughed through the shop’s front windows with her vehicle earlier this morning.

A car guard is busy cleaning up in front of Baker’s Centre Heidelberg. A female driver apparently reversed from the far side of the road – failing to stop and reversed over the sidewalk – crashing into both windows in the front of the shop.

The car came through the windows and there was glass, shelves and products flying around and landing all over the floor.

 

According to staff, the female driver was not seriously hurt during the accident. It seems that except for the total wreckage of the shopfront, no other injuries occurred.

 

Staff are still busy cleaning up inside Baker’s Centre Heidelberg. Many shelves were hit by the car and glass and products are scattered all over the floor.
