Carlisle’s riders ready for nationals

No less than five riders from Carlisle Stud and Equestrian Park will be competing at the SANESA National Championships from 28 September to 6 October at Kyalami Equestrian Park. Carlisle's riders will be competing in a whopping 26 classes.

Tamara van Vuuren and her mare Midguard Althea will be competing in the following classes: Preliminary Dressage 2 (A team); 1m Equitation (B team); 60 cm Eventing (A team); and 70 cm Stadium Eventing (A team).

 
Chané Smit and her gelding Baikalt Sea are ready for the 70 cm Eventing  (A team) and the 80 cm Stadium Eventing (also A team). Yulani van As and her gelding Carlisle’s Bolt will be competing in the 60 cm Equitation (B team) class.

 
Casey-Leigh Smit and her mare Flicka Speed are to compete in Dressage SANESA Special 1 (C team); 60 cm Eventing (A team); and 60 cm Stadium Eventing (B team). Adrienne MacDonald Hutcheson will be competing on three horses in a variety of classes. Firstly, Adrienne and her gelding Waterford Chocolate will be competing in the following classes: Pony Riders Novice Dressage 1 (A team); Pony Riders Novice Dressage 2 (B team); Prix Caprilli Intermediate 1 (A team); 80 cm Show Jumping competition (C team); 70 cm Equitation (A team); Working Riding (A team); 70 cm Working Hunter (A team); 60 cm Eventing( A team); and the 70 cm Stadium Eventing (A team).

 
Further, Adrienne and her gelding Carlisle’s Apollo will compete in Dressage SANESA Special 1 (B team); Dressage SANESA Special 2 (A team); Prix Caprilli Beginner 1 (A team); and Prix Caprilli Beginner 2 (B team).

 
Finally, Adrienne and her gelding Lang Carel Wildebees are to show their stuff in the Pony Riders Preliminary Dressage 1 (A team); Pony Riders Preliminary Dressage 2 (A team); as well as Prix Caprilli Novice 2 (A team).

 

Instructor Michelle MacDonald-Hutcheson says that these five are super riders riding exceptional horses and ponies, but no matter the place or prize, it is the performance that counts.

 

“Go out and enjoy it,” Mac Donald-Hutcheson concluded.
