Nigel SPCA is in desperate need of your support, as they are struggling to make ends meet.
During HERAUT’s visit to the animal shelter on August 29, new acting manager/inspector Zama Mabena stressed the importance of community involvement.
“Nigel SPCA needs people from the local community who are able to commit their time, effort and expertise to ensure the survival of the animal shelter,” Mabena said.
It receives no financial support from government and funding remains a key factor. The community is therefore asked to get involved and support Nigel SPCA through donations or by adopting a loving animal.
Local residents can also visit the kennels to see whether their missing pets are there. Anyone that wishes to adopt an animal has to visit the animal shelter and complete an animal adoption form. The adoption process is subject to a pre-home inspection.

Zama Mabena is the new acting manager/inspector at Nigel SPCA and pleads with the community to support the animal shelter with funds to help them keep afloat. He said there are currently around 15 animals that are looking for a forever home and has invited members of the community to bring their families to interact with the animals.
