HEIDELBERG – A 41-year-old man was arrested on Friday evening for contravening a protection order after he assaulted his wife.
The victim and her husband became embroiled in a heated argument over voice messages on a phone whereby the victim was accused of cheating.
Her husband assaulted her, causing injuries, including swollen eyes, bruises on her face and hands, as well as an injury to her ribs.
The victim applied for an interim protection order against the man in November 2017 for abuse, insult and assault.
He will appear in the Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court soon.
