Duduza SAPS is searching for five men involved in a house robbery during which cash and cellphones were taken.
The incident took place last Friday at a home in Pailane Street, Bluegumview.
It is believed the family was sitting in the lounge of their home at around 8pm, during a power outage, when the men entered the house, threatened them with firearms and demanded cash.
The men took R3 000 from the bedroom and assaulted and injured the female owner of the house. She was struck over the head with a firearm.
They then broke the lock to the safe and took an additional R40 000.
Seven different cellphones belonging to the family, as well as keys to a Toyota Hilux bakkie, were taken by the men before they fled the scene.
