I grew up in Nigel, went to school in Nigel and have lived here all my life. The rapid decline in the cleanliness and deterioration of the infrastructure saddened me and #I love Nigel was started at the beginning of 2020 to try and make a difference to our beautiful town.
It’s continued and resulted in my involvement with service delivery issues like electricity and water outages, sewage leaks and other service delivery issues.
I was able to help many people and as a result, I was approached by the residents to make myself available for the local elections as ward councillor and I agreed.
I believe we have put politics where it does not belong, in local government. Councils need to be depoliticised and that is why I am standing as an independent.
As an independent, I will be able to devote 100% of my time to the residents and service delivery will be my number one priority, which includes devoting all my time to helping the residents of Nigel.
When you are a political ward councillor, a large percentage of your work and time has to be political to advance the party. In conclusion, I am committed to the town I love and all its residents.
Together I believe we can and will make a big difference. I will continue my commitment to this town and its residents, add value and work hard.
