Educational programme deemed a success

Heidelberg SAPS thanked the various stakeholders who participated in the programme and helped to ensure its success.

Members of Heidelberg SAPS and community stakeholders recently paid a visit to Heidelberg Academy.

Capt Mzwandile Blose, of the Heidelberg Social Crime Prevention Unit, was assisted by members from the Lesedi Local Municipality’s traffic, fire and health departments.

The main aim of the day was to educate learners on the important role played by police in the Children’s Act (Act No.38 of 2005).

Members from the Lesedi traffic department explained to learners the importance of road safety awareness that included safe areas to play and the correct areas to cross the road.

The health department sensitised learners on good behaviour coupled with looking after their own health.

Learners also had the opportunity to ask questions, especially with regards to Covid-19 vaccinations.

The fire department helped sensitise learners on safety measures in the case of a fire.

Heidelberg SAPS thanked the various stakeholders who participated in the programme and helped to ensure its success.

SAPS members are also looking forward to creating a better environment and focusing on children’s best interests by establishing and maintaining a good relationship with the next generation of leaders.
