Burst pipe causes water interruption

NIGEL – The water interruption that has left most households in town without water since yesterday (February 1) is due to a burst pipe.

The pipe located in Springs’s Road in town, has been the cause if numerous water interruptions in the past.

According to Ward Councillor, Wollaston Labuschagne, technicians worked throughout the night to fix the problem.

“The technicians cannot yet open the water valves completely,” he said early this morning. “I understand that the interruption creates numerous challenges for families, schools and old age homes.”

Water tankers will be provided soon, according to Labuschagne.
